Many of us had our foreheads marked on Ash Wednesday with ashes. We heard words like “remember that you are dust..” Our Ash Wednesday reflection encouraged us to consider the ashes and these words as a reminder not merely of the truth that our earthly bodies will someday fail us, but that we are “sacred dust,” beloved of God, the only one who trully knows what is in our hearts and loves us with an unfathomable love anyway.
The truth that we are all sacred dust will persist throughout this Lenten season, in all St. Peter’s activities. Join us as we explore the depths of God’s love and what it means to say that we are sacred dust.
